Conceived by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the Internet, Semantic Web is the amalgamation of the data gathered from various diverse sources. The main application of Semantic Web is attributed to the fact that Web contains stupendous amount of data, yet most of it is hidden and not readily accessible. Semantic Web would help in structuring out this scattered data and enable programmers in carrying out sophisticated tasks. It is heralded as the future of the web and very rightly so, for it will completely change the face of the Internet that we know today. For the uninitiated, Semantic Web adds meaning to and simplifies the data available on the net.
