Germany may not
have won the FIFA World Cup, but German sporting goods company Adidas has reported a whopping 24 per cent rise in its second-quarter net profit and a 60 per cent leap in sales – on the back of huge sales at the time of the World Cup soccer tournament. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to 82 million Euros from 66 million Euros a year earlier. Adidas had supplied shirts for the host team Germany and are now looking at a net income of 500 million Euros for the year.
